Use this guide to add and configure the Due Date macro on your Confluence pages.
Open a Confluence page in edit mode.
Type / or click Insert in the toolbar.
Search for Due Date and select the Due Date macro.
The macro is inserted and the configuration panel opens on the right (if "open on insert" is enabled).
In the right-hand panel you can set:
Label — Text shown before the date (e.g. "Due", "Ship by", "Review by"). Default: Due.
Target date — The due date. Use the date picker to choose the day.
Show — What to display: Date + Remaining, Remaining only, or Date only.
Date format — How the date is shown (e.g. MM/DD/YY, DD/MM/YYYY).
Warning threshold (days) — How many days before the due date the lozenge turns yellow. Default: 7.
Click outside the panel or save the page to apply. To change settings later, click the macro and use the macro options in the right panel.
The macro shows a single due date as a colored lozenge:
Green — On track. The due date is more than your warning threshold away.
Yellow — Deadline approaching. The due date is within the warning threshold (e.g. 7 days).
Red — Past due. The due date has passed.
The remaining time (e.g. "14d") updates automatically so readers always see current information.
If you see a message that the due date is not set, open the macro configuration in the right panel and choose a Target date. Save the page and the lozenge will appear with the date and color.
